Blender Core developer Sergey is now part of the team at Blender Institute! So he joined the podcast to chat about the upcoming development plans for 2016. Also, we discuss the upcoming open movie “Caminandes: Llamigos” release and answer several questions from Blender Cloud members.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.

I do a bit of building and welding and use Blender all the time to plan dimensions, place lights, calculate wire lengths, etc. etc. Basically just like a sketchbook but in 3D.
