Caminandes 3 Trailer Released

11

Oh boy! Looks like Koro's passion for berries is leading him straight into a conflict with a cuddly penguin this time :) Note the special Christmas edition of the train too! That's a nice touch.

In this episode it's Winter in Patagonia. Koro the Llama meets with Oti the pesky baby penguin, both going after that last tasty berry.

Caminandes 3 (working title, 2:30 minutes) will be released on January 27th, 2016.

This short film was independently produced by Blender Institute using the free/open source software Blender. It was made possible thanks to the subscribers on Blender Cloud. Special thanks goes to the impressive music by Torin Borrowdale, the sfx by Sander Houtman and the render power of RenderStreet.

The film and all of the files that made the film are available on Blender Cloud, in CC-BY. Read more about this short film and our other work here: https://cloud.blender.org/caminandes.

  1. I love the style , but on a technical note, does anyone else have a problem with Koro's fur? To me it has a weird kinda glowy plasticky look to it.The penguin fur looks much better in contrast. I noticed it on the second caminandes but I chalked it up to inexperience/time constraints with cycles at the time. but after cosmos and comparing with the penguin, I can't figure out why it still sticks out as "fake".

  2. This trailer was disappointing. I found the previous two Caminantes to be a lot better than this, and the story... well

And, as others noticed, the penguin is sooo fake!
