I really like the visual style and character animation in Vignesh Krishnan's version of the 'Civil War' credits.
I've been learning blender for around 3 years now and I've always wanted to do an animation video. So I was thinking about a lot of concepts to do. Finally I decided to do a video for Marvel's Captain America: Civil War. I was really inspired by the end credits of the Winter Soldier movie and so I went for the same "silhouette" approach.
One advantage I had with this approach is that my characters only needed to have a proper "outline". That is, all I had to do is to get the silhouette to resemble the character. There was no need to spend time on making them look exactly like the ones in the movie. As for the materials, all characters use an Emission material to get the stark colors. I rendered the animations in PNG sequences with alpha backgrounds and then imported into after effects to add the background, edit the sequences, audio mixing etc., I used GIMP for texturing Captain's shield. I also added a grunge feel to it to imply the fact that the shield has gone through tough battles of late.
Feel free to ask any questions. I hope you like my work!NOTE: All rights for the characters are held by MARVEL. This is only a fan made video and is not intended for any commercial purposes.
