Hi. here is my latest character I made using blender3D 2.7x. Took about a week, modeled the whole background scene as well. Its a mixture of a steam-punk style and anime style. You can get the full character from Blend Swap.

Nice timelaps, kinda supriced me you started with such a high detail, when i model a face i start the mesh with les detail and then later subdiv and adjust for detail. After so many mesh editing on the face, the face still i duno is a bit hmm.. there is something going on with it not sure (to large eyebrows?) or to difuse skin ?.. Or are the colors of the whole picture is a bit washed out (as an artistic effect), and i noticed it by the face. (maybe use Sepia filter? )
The figure as a whole shape model on anime and photo transformed into a 3d model is nice.
Hi. everybody has got his way of making a character. and yes I do like to start with a high detail mesh. coz i think more vertices's give you more control and shape :).
I'm just curious if you make a real like model without using images, do you then also start in that detail level, that would indicate you have a good model of the human shape in your mind. I kinda already think that since you work so in detail on start.. you do model drawings (by hand as well ?) because that might clarify that skill.
lol well i can just doodle some sketches :P like here :)
