I'm amazed by the realism in this image by DeaDEnD. A very unconventional topic selection too, well done!

It's good to get your hands dirty every once in a while.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Really great image. Like the lighting and overall mood. Only thing that really bugs me is the bottom of the toolbox, where it sits on the counter. That line is to sharp, the toolbox connects to the counter in a very unnatural way.
    But that's the only thing.
    Overall a great image!

  2. Love the shot, the detail in the veins from the shadow casting is fantastic, but the tool box and watch could use some grit given what his mitts have gone through. Now that I think about it, the watch is fine, I've had messy sessions where certain articles remain surprisingly clean. But cannot get by the fancy faucet. No way in hell is this guy cleaning his hands in the kitchen sink, unless he is single, in that case he is just using brake cleaner from the garage to clean his hands, or the faucet in his kitchen is literally a set of brass valves. Overall great composition.
