Alessandro Zomparelli's 'Tissue' add-on can generate stunning geometry.
The add-on is composed by different tools for computational design.
- Tessellate tool allows the user to copy a selected object (Component) on the faces of the active object (Generator), adapting its bounding box to the shape of quad-faces. Once the Tessellate button was pressed, then more options will appear in the Operator parameters. Update allows you to update the active the Tessellated mesh according to Component and Generator changes. You can also change the parameters of tessellation.
- Colors-Weight Exchanger consists of two tool: Colors from Weight and Weight from Colors that allow the user to convert the active vertex color to vertex group and vice-versa.
- Dual Mesh modify the selected meshes creating dual meshes. Dual Mesh output is a polygonal mesh derived from the triangular mesh. Quadrangolar meshes are automatically converted to triangular before.

Neat addon. Looks very useful for creating some interesting organic designs and kitbashing parts.
Also looks useful for creating stuff like weaved surfaces, which you can bake as normal/displacement maps.
Though, how exactly did you create this design?

Thanks for the share!
Very impressive. By the way, the addon requires the NumPy package installed on the system.
It would be interesting to add different tessellation modules on the same mesh e.g. based on some properties like vertex colors. In this way it would maybe be possible to simulate different stitches of a jumper. See http://www.cg.cs.tu-bs.de/teaching/seminars/ws1213/CG/webpages/SebastianMorr/
Great work! also useful for animation design in freestyle render mode
Hello! I love this addon, but my new RTX NVidia does not accept Blender 2.79 and in 2.8 I have troubles to find the location of the addon. I downloaded the right version, installation ok and it does not show up (and I dont know where to search fiurther...). Does 2.8 still not work with (non implemented) addons? Plz help!
