Hi all,

Here are (short) notes from today's meeting in #blendercoders.

1) 2.76 release

  • Bug tracker has been active in the past week. A lot more people tested the RC and reported on it.
  • So-far no big showstoppers were reported. Team will wait until wednesday and then decide to either call for an RC3 or to make the release official.
  • OpenSubdiv feature causes confused reactions still. Good doc is here.
  • Sergey Sharybin will extract from that doc a short section for users to at least first read before testing OpenSubdiv.

2) Other projects, planning

  • There's a really full conference coming!
  • Further no news. The core team is looking forward to a period without reviews, support, releases and bug tracker duties!

  1. Hello,thanks for the great work you made in Blender.

    I'v tested a little the new 2.76 rc2 and I'll try the copy past transfer uv,and unlike the manual said I'll can't past tranfer UV more than 2 faces.

    Don't know if it's a bug but in the tuto video I'll saw that we can copypast more than 2 faces.

    Aso I'll don't see the addon listed on the addons tab but it work except the transfer copy paste uv limited to 2 faces.

  2. For the opensubdiv to-do list, I'd like to see adaptive subdivision added, that is the feature that will really speed things up by only tessellating those parts of a mesh that need it the most. I couldn't find it on the list, unless it was there using different words to describe the same result. Would "generated coordinates" perhaps be it?

  3. In Blender 2.76 RC2 for windows also in the recent Builds from Buildbot
    i found out that in the Properties Panels-Scene Button (panels) the Simplify Panel exists two times twice?!!!
    but only in Blender Render not in Cycles!?
    Please developers remove one Simplify Panel!
