Here are the notes from today’s meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders.

1) Upcoming 2.76 release

  • Planning for release now is 2 weeks later already! But a lot of bugs were tackled. Last week the total of open bugs went down to 86 total!
  • Planning and projects list.
  • Sergey Sharybin: there are a couple of OpenSubdiv issues still. He’s on top of it. (crash on particular hardware configuration and wrong smooth normals).
  • We check tuesday or wednesday on the status of bugs and then decide to go for the official Release Candidate.
  • Splash has been submitted and is ready. :)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.
