I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. You know what would be a neat little feature in Blender eventually? An optional little prompt that gently appears periodically to remind you how long you've been at the computer.

Maybe it could have a random bunch of friendly and funny little prompt images, saying things like:

"Hey, wanna take a short break?"
"Desk-potato detected! Stretch your legs a while!"
    "Hey, it's lunchtime!"

    and maybe after many hours,

"It's been nine hours! How are you still alive?! Get some fresh air, for goodness sake!"

    • In fact you can do something like this using other program on the computer, I really do not remember the name, but I've seen it around...
It is possible to create an addon, but frankly this is a very specific need and useless.
There are so many more important things.

      • Oh, it's a novelty, for sure. Just throwing this out as one of those at-one's-leisure developments. Not essential at all. If anything, I'm just sorta putting this one out more lightheartedly.

Also, wasn't so much looking for the core development for this one. Indeed, there are far more important things on the core agenda. Though, I do see from time to time folks taking a little side-development. A small little add-on could definitely do the job. But again, it's no big deal.
