3D printed architectural model with bronze filament

2

Matthieu Dupont de Dinechin (viralata) created this shape un his Ultimaker 3D printer. He shares a video of its creation process which involves Blender, 3D printing and some good old-fashioned handwork!

Matthieu Dupont de Dinechin - viralata writes:

A new test of the use of displace modifiers in Blender to generate some architectural forms and shapes suited to 3D printing. I like the way 3Dprinting allow to design exciting new shapes and include directly in the design the final surface patterns and decoration.

I used for this model the BronzeFill filament from ColorFabb. It gives after sanding a very hard, heavy and shiny material that definitely doesn’t look like plastic.

The .blend and more pictures can be found on my website.

  1. Hello viralata
Please dont get me wrong, but seeing the orangy title photo without reading the headline just reminded me of toastbread slices, after I recognized the nice gravure work...maybe it is because I was following some discussions about the Guggenheim Museums all around the World...;)
