Vincent Gires presents his Blender asset manager.
I worked on an asset manager add-on for Blender.
Here is the description:
This script aims to read folders that contain blend files, display the content in a list of elements that may be imported. This is useful to save custom node setups, materials or objects that will be reuse in other files.
Folder paths are available for:
- compositing node groups
- shading node groups
- texture node groups
- materials
- objects
- groups

Very useful!
BAM ! Very nice work ! A friend of mine created a very similar addon but with a proxy/final render option so that we can interact or animate on a simple mesh and then swith to the final renderable object... do you think you could do that ?
... anyway I guess all of this will soon appear on the new blender asset manager :D BAM !
Maybe your friend and this guy should mix up their code!, that'd be fantastic!!
I'm quite new with Blender. Very cool addon, thanks :). But I have a little problem with it. I've installed it, set paths and got stuck :/. Please tell me hov to add materials/objects/etc. to addon's library ?
Strange that you did not get any respond. Either you have solved this now by this time, but you must click scan/update, choose the object and click import. I think it was like this.
