Designing your own audio player with Blender

Recently I finished my MP3 player project. This player consists of a Raspberry Pi with some additional hardware. For the enclosure I turned to Blender. I designed the enclosure entirely with Blender. First I made some mockups for the hardware components used in the player. Then started as the default cube I made the enclosure. The enclosure had to be printed on a Ultimaker, so I divided the enclosure in 3 parts. The first attempt to print the enclosure was no success. After some changes the second attempt was much better. Some minor tweaking on the enclosure was still needed due to different shrinking of the parts and some miscalculations.

I’m quite happy with the end result and the player (named MPi3 player) is now a functional part of my Hifi installation.
