Impressive fluids by Next Limit Technologies. Hmm, maybe we should do a weekend contest on Fluids? :)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Impressive, but with a price tag out of my reach. Blender users can harvest some ideas from their showstoppers, however :) ....

    • Aside from price, it seems like it be prohibitive for most of us computationally, too. Unless it's significantly quicker than anything similar Blender can do, I can't imagine baking and rendering this on my machine, which fairly decent.
      But who knows?

Try using Houdini Indie, You got all major tools for perfect Hollywood VFX in Simulation (Fluid Smoke and so on) and that only for 199$ And the best part. Perfect interaction via MDD or OBJ Sequence between Houdini and Blender i know it for shure. One single tip. Realflow is a very nice and easy tool to do amazing visuals. But the interconnection between other tools are only possible via plugins. Think over the edge by using Hollywoods Backbone( Houdini) with Blender and you will create most stunning shots! ;)

  3. Amazing fluid sims! I would love for a weekend contest to feature fluid sims! As long as they are still images and not animations. I don't think I could bake and render an animation of a fluid in a single weekend. :)
