Ooh, this one's going to be a challenge! Nachoc was last weekend's winner with Flying Machine, and he picked 'Be Reggae' as the next topic.
And yeah, picking an image for this topic wasn't easy iether, so I decided on Poked Studio's 'The Raid', which is rather trivial, I admit ;-)
He says:
About the theme of the contest ... This summer I had the luck to be in one of the greatest Reggae meeting in the world, and the largest in Europe, and the experience has been very special. The motto of the meeting was: "We have a Dream", but there was already a similar topic in the weekend contest, so... What I suggest for the weekend contest is: "Be Reggae". Expresses your more wild side or the more relaxed or your best dance... but be happy and be reggae
Rules:
- Post your work below (attach an image and a screenshot if you like).
- Post only new work, not existing.
- Vote for your winner by monday.
- The winner will get a post next week, and will get to pick next weekend’s contest theme. Have fun!
Have an awesome weekend!

This was a very challenging Weekend-Contest! I had very little idea of what Reggae was, I did some research and came up with the color scheme. I then modeled a silhouette of a Bob Marley. Critiques comments and likes appreciated! Enjoy - Ben Burckel
Very nice! How'd you do the silhouette? Is it a single plane, or a complete 3-D body sculpt?
I just did a 2d silhouette (For me 3d modeling a human is very difficult). Hair was a particle system and body was a 2d plane.
So, my entry may not really fit the theme of "Reggae" very well. However, the description said "...or your best dance..." So, without further ado, I present my recreation of the stage from the original Lord of the Dance show! (Reference pictures to be posted in a reply)
Whoops... Disqus didn't post the picture! Here it is.
EDIT: It posted the older version, sorry!
Anyways, here are the reference pictures from the actual show.
Good image, but it seems a bit dark and the eyes have no subject to focus on. Maybe a bright center piece or flame in the middle to provide an interest. It is a great background just keep adding to it!
"That Irie Feeling" - Had a lot of fun making this, enjoy :)
Ooh Yeah!!! I love it. Great job
Thanks! :)
My first post! This big loudspeaker is a scoop, the base of every jamaican sound system. These scoops play the bass line so loud that rather than listening it, you feel it with your whole body.
At first I didn't come up with any ideas, but then I remembered the previous contest with a music theme which I solved with my "Disco sheep". So , this time it's "Reggae Dog". Made from scratch as usual, 800 samples in Cycles, rendered on Render street this time. Hope you like it! :)
Late to the party. But I had to do one for this.
Unfortunately, this weekend I have not had much free time ... This is my touch of color to the contest.
All in Blender (except, textures and signature ;) ). The composition could have been better...
I thought this topic would bring more jobs ....
This is the kind of place that reggae takes my mind to
Cheers!
Well i just realized i rendered this image with full brightness on my screen, and now that i opened it on my ipad i cant see much.. so i just added some brightness on PS for the sake of all of you actually being able to see it
