Advanced video training course on Blender in Russian gets crowdfunded

1

The crowdfunding campaign to create "Level Up", a freely available advanced Blender video training course in Russian, has successfully reached 100% and is now well into the first stretch goal.

Alexandre Prokoudine writes:

The campaign was launched a few weeks ago by Arthur Shamshadinov, CEO of Russian-based Propellers studio that uses 100% free/libre Blender-centered production pipeline. The company already created a basic video course on Blender a while ago, hence the new course will be delivering training on more sophisticated aspects of using Blender, including, but not limited to:

  • Retopology;
  • Face rigging;
  • Animation addons and NLA;
  • Walking/Running animation;
  • Particles system;
  • Fluids simulation;
  • Clothes and hair dynamics;
  • Smoke and fire simulation;
  • Soft body dynamics;
  • NPR and Freestyle;
  • Motion design tools.

Stretch goals include: tutorials on using Blend4Web, a collection of reusable fluids/smoke/fire simulations, a collection of reusable motion design elements, and additional training material on scripting Blender.

All training videos will be uploaded to YouTube one by one and stay free to access to anyone.

Coincidentally, creators of the new course are the same team that launched a crowdsourced animated movie project 'Agata' a while back.

Their crowdfunding campaign ends tomorrow, you can still contribute to the campaign and help the team to reach stretch goals.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
