Using multiple shaders using nodes

Kozmof shares a quick tip on combining multiple shaders.
In the real world, there are many different textures which are seen on a same surface and we need to simulate them to achieve the realistic images by different shaders. I’ll show some example photos.

Hey… The link doesn’t work… Looks like there’s a space before the adress of the blog…
Same here…
Link fixed!
Here’s a working link: http://kozmof.blogspot.nl/2014/09/several-different-shaders-in-one.html
You need a whole tutorial for this stuff? It’s almost child’s play with how intuitive the Node Editor is…
Maybe not for you, but someone else might learn something here.
Yeah, real intuitive here…

Using “mix” to separate is hardly what I would call intuitive, honestly.
I agree. I also have an older computer so I don’t know when I’ve done something wrong and when it’s my computer.
I think nice tutorial for those who begin with blender, most likely they figured out mixing nodes after a while. Maybe you should have included, that this can be combined with texture painting. As with that you can put the rust or cracks in a different material wherver you want it to be…maybe i got to do a tutorial myself :)
Can I get some idea as to the missing nodes off to the left of the diagram? There are five lines extending offscreen and I can make a good guess as to the sources for a few of them but not all.
i would like to know too i’m bit disappointed with this screenshot :-s could someone help with a blend nor a full nodetree ?
