How to setup you own Pie Menus in Blender

1

Sebastian is on a roll! Here's another quick video showing how to customize pie menus in the upcoming 2.72 version.

In 2.72 there will be a new UI feature, which enhances user interaction in Blender: Pie Menus.
The backend has been implemented in C (thanks to Antony Riakiotakis!), but the actual pies can be easily written in Python (Pie-thon, huhuhu...). Here's a quick guide how you can setup your own menus!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

This was very informative. Have you made any other resources for learning involving Blender scripting, especially pie creation? I have become fascinated with how rows/columns change the layout and very curious how to achieve the desired layout I want. Mainly how to split rows or columns in half etc to get multiple options for each of the 8 slots. Thanks in advance and cheers.
