This one is quite old, but I think it's still very useful: Kent Tramell reviews the Mesh Lint add-on that helps make sure your geometry is error-free.

      it's working for me.
      did you remember to enable it in the add ons part of the user preferences?
      it should show up in the object data panel in the properties window.

  1. MeshLint also seems to have a bit of a sense of humour. It listed all the problems with my mesh and ended with:

    ...and also, "Circle.005" is not a great name.
