Hydrogen animation

12

Kelvin S created this video for his Chemistry class. That's a pretty cool assignment!

I had to make a video for Chemistry class, so I used Blender to put together this motion design about photolytic hydrogen. Almost everything was done in blender, except for a few drawings (like the beakers or the cells) which were drawn in Inkscape and imported as SVGs. Very little 3D was used—most of the models in the video are stacked filled 2D curves or meshes.

  1. Very slick work! Good animation and smooth transitions.

My only critique is that there's a lot of bright/white (small) text on bright backgrounds. They're a little straining to read.

  2. Superb animationwork, agree about some reading difficulties due to
contrast-issues. The pre-prod with scripts and everything is great.
Sadly the critique is, as most often, about sound. The
highend-transients from the music is competing with the consonants (s, t, k etc) in voice-over. EQ-down the music to get a more audible V.O.
