Does anyone know if Buildbot also includes features of RC's with the most recent updates, or no?
Buildbot has all the features of the RC and already some features that will go into 2.72...
Ah, thanks. Always wondered that.
Any other mirrors? Torrent? Downloading really slowly. 30-40 minutes for what should be a few seconds.
This might sound like an inane question, but is it necessary or advisable to uninstall earlier versions of Blender before installing the newest RC? I'm new to the Blender/CG universe and trying to make things as painless as possible for meself. Thanx.
When it's an RC, I don't uninstall the last official version and it works fine. Before installing an official release, I will uninstall the old version, but that's just because I won't use the older version, but I still don't think it makes any difference.
Only problem I could forsee is if you unzipped the RC into the same folder with the latest official release.
Thanks muchly. I appreciate your help.
Thanks everyone for your hard work, but... if the image above (or here: should be the same http://www.blendernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/800px-Blender-2.71-cycles-smoke.png) is smoke, then I'll wait for the final release before forming any opinion. To me, it looks like anything but smoke.
Gotta love hyperbole. 'Anything but smoke'....
Look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSiV5gg_lCs
before drawing any conclusions. I suspect whomever made this image,
did so to show various features of the current smoke progress I've tested it
myself and got decent results with my limited understanding, and I'm sure it's been
improved even more since then.
