No problem, I removed them. Thanks for joining the contest!

Why thank you! I forgot to mention what it's title: Curious Robot
From my "Future family" series
please delete this as i accidentally posted it as guest

Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet (1956).
Created last night in about 6 hours.
Created faster than the origanal, and looks better!
awesome detail.

cool composition.
Here is my entry "Robot fight".
Here's my entry, "Invasion...?"
Mostly influenced by the futuristic smooth curve style.
Rendered in Cycles.
Comments and critiques appreciated! Enjoy! :)
Here is a project I did for an online Blender course.
I thought I would try and see what I could do.
So...my second try at contests
So..there is my second entry in a contest
So..there is my second entry in a contest
After the third try, I managed to upload it :D
I've got a feeling we're gonna see a lot of BoolTool usage for this one. :)
Hi, first time entering a contest here.
Here's my entry.
Really cool model. I like it a lot, but the banding in the background is....distracting? Not sure what the correct word would be.
You're right, it's kind of annoying and seems to happen a lot with dark backgrounds. It's expecially noticeable in the thumbnail. Seems to be also a scaling issue.
Does anyone know if this is fixable in blender Internal? Cycles seems to have this problem less, but if it is a subtle gradient like this that causes the problem, could it just be an issue with the color variation in the images generated by blender internal?
I'm not all that familiar with BI, or even how he did the background, but since he said 'seems to be also a scaling issue', I suspect it could be an issue with scaling a gradient texture. Perhaps the built-in gradients aren't as smooth as they appear when scaled? May also be the type of gradient used, i.e. linear, quadratic, easing, etc. I should probably just shut up since I already said I don't know BI that well, but thought may ideas my spark an idea in someone else.
I also get this when the gradient is the result of a rendering with a point light and a plane extending away. This happens even with high ray tracing samples.
Ah, then I'm probably wrong. I also think by 'scaling' he may have meant the downsizing of the image in disqus, which would make me even more wrong. As I said, I should probably just keep my mouth shut. And as I say that....could it be some settings when saving as certain formats? Pretty sure most people upload jpg's, but there may be reasons to save as some other format then convert later.
In the situation you described, does it happen using generated mapping as well as UV? Maybe 'generated' causes this effect?
Hopefully my blithering will prompt someone smarter to correct me.
What I found is, in my case (a simple studio backdrop), the banding seems to get more evident as I scale down the image, but I still can't manage to remove it entirely. Strangely enough, it completely disappears when I open the image in Gimp. Since I have encountered the artifact only with dark colours, I'm fairly sure it's because of the colour depth of the images (in fact, it gets much stronger in videos).
Yo can try saving the image in a higher deph color, maybe it could fix it (but that will increase your image size).
Nice Image! The problem with the bg is called color banding. I never really understood where it comes from, but the only thing I know to avoid this (as Victor S. Grau already metioned) is render in a higher bit depth and than scaling down afterwarts. A way to hide that is break the lines with a slight noise filter in PS or Gimp...
Very aperture science feel to it. I really like it.
this one's my favourite so far
Modeling in Blender and render with Cycles gpu.

nice clean render.

Here's my entry, "Old robot". It's really old: it comes from the first tutorial I wrote (2009). I read the theme, I saw the image "Roboheads" and I couldn't resist! Blender 2.49b (Blender internal ;).
Some more poses :)
Hey, here's my entry.
Hope you like it! :)
"Recursion, Left Behind"
During this weekend contest I attempted to create a story. I hope the title explains the story! Rendered in Blender Render and please enjoy ! :)
It's been a while since my last contribution, so I guess it's about time. I've been grilling a lot lately. Namely grilling, while everyone else eats. I would love to have this fella accompanying me in the yard! :) Lots of great entries in here. I guess Blender people have a soft spot for robots :)
My two cents :)
My very first entry!! :D "Pepper first kiss". I hope you like it!
Hi all, I've recently finished a project of a low poly robot with hand painted textures in Blender, hope you like it.

I hope that animated gifs are allowed, if not, please let me know so I can upload a jpg or png ;)
Hi everybody! Here we are. Bart, I hope you're trip was amazing since the week without contest has been so long ;) ...Directly from de 80's….. THE RAPBOT!!! I hope you like it!! About 4 hours to do it.
Another view, and a screenshoot....
Wow... this is crazy... Sorry, the image has been repeated again and again...
This is s robot handpupet i modeled in blender and printed on my Ultimaker 1 3D printer.
i than painted it using acrylics and mad the body ot of leather (can I enterthis since its not a render but real object ??)
The most original one, thats take my vote!

Here's my weekend robot created in Blender cycles.
As product lifecycles are getting shorter and shorter, the robot shown here will be part of any future factory ;-)
Hi all, This is my second attempt at the Weekend Contest. This image is inspired by a scene from the William Gibson novel “Count Zero”, where a robotic arm creates (Joseph) Cornell Boxes. Where better to place it than in a Cornell Box.
hmm... The image didn't upload
