Joel Bernis rigs an arrow to allow for careful control of all kinds of motion. The model itself is available for download.
How To Rig An Arrow ?
I'm sure, you've all already ask yourself this question... and if not, it's not too late !
In this tutorial (my first one as videotutorial) I wanted to show some of the possibilities of rigging in blender. I wanted to make a rig very simple to use with all the necessary controls and in the the most simply way.
So, with 3 bones plus 3 properties, you have a full control of this arrow.
I just use Parenting (the first of all constraints for rigging), Copy Rotation, Drivers and Custom Properties. To animate the arrow, I add a Follow Path Constraint and a Copy Transform from the target. With that, you can shoot an arrow.
I think my video is between timelapse and videotutorial, so use Pause and Play.
I hope this video will make you to want to know more about rigging.
