Live Action CG Pokemon in Blender

Chris Folea nailed this live footage Pokemon animation.

We've started a YouTube series involving CG Pokemon (made more realistic than the original designs) on live action background plates.

The entire effects workflow is done in Blender, and the fire was rendered using an experimental build in Cycles.

    That looked like one of the digimon but still that was way cool.
    but what I want to know is how he did that while maintaining a straight face lol.
