Explore the evolution of 'The Raid' by Pokedstudio.

A look at how I created the illustration "The Raid".

Here you will see how the concept of the illustration developed over time. Changes where made as the illustration grew more complex. This is a luxury that can't be afforded on a commercial project, where you need to nail down you concepts near the start. But it personal work its great to develop a piece as it grows.

The Raid was created in Blender, with textures created in Adobe illustrator and then comped in Photoshop.

The walkthroughs where created in Blender and comped in Adobe After effects.

  1. Loved the walk through. I thought the camera was going to fly through the hole in that little guy's head for a minute. I noticed a slightly jerky camera motion and was left wondering if was an artistic choice.

    thanks for featuring this Bart.

    Yep the camera is a bit jerky, some is intentional, but some was caused by me stretching the time in after effects...will try to fix it or re-render at a higher frame rate.
