Björn Sonnenschein shares a technique to reduce some of the artifacts that may appear when you manipulate colors in the compositor.

Because heavy compression artefacts may lead to a horrible exprience when manipulating color using Blender's compositor, I have written down a quick workaround using a Bilateral Blur setup.

I gave this a quick go in after effects, aside from a massive push on render time - it does clean up the color channel a fair bit.
The image on the left is the footage with the effects. (the image is a what happens in after effects in a 32bit color space if you add a saturation effect with the value of 100)
Very interesting, thanks for sharing !
lol. With that self-mutilating model, I want the image distorted as much as possible.
