Video: Winter Train

6

The new animation studio BlaBlu presents their ident video, made with Blender.

BlaBlu writes:

We are BlaBlu, a group of illustrators, animators and freelance artists that are starting to make ourselves known out there with the goal in mind to work in a more cohesive way.

Recently we have produced a 3d animation using blender as a tool for modeling, lighting and rendering.

Throughout the process we have learnt a lot of things, and we would like to contribute and do our bit, inviting everybody to use the great assets and possibilities this amazing tool has to offer, particularly the Cycles render.

We would like to take advantage to thank the community for all the work that has been done, which is constantly developing for free, and is responsible of the expansion and development of Blender.

You are more than welcome to have a look to our process and work in Blabluanimation.com

  1. the video looks good but maybe reconsider your logo it might need some slight improvement
Because i stared a while, stopped the video, kept looking then I gave up.
Only after i had red the text below and then i understood that it had been looking at a logo with letters.
I couldnt make anything of it before,
I was thinking that i was looking at the little ghost casper but with strange marks on it.
Maybe use a real font instead, and then you can keep the coloring of the font.

    • Animation and mood are nice in an attractive scene. I was looking through the train expecting a character to appear near the tree. And then I saw the blue glow. I found myself thinking "Why has Casper got markings on his head".

    • Thank you both Peter and Nex Pro. The truth is we didn't realize of that at any moment. It will be taken into account for the next version.
      Thank you very much.

  2. Nice shot, nice music (as all music from BBB) but I gotta say the music doesn't really fit the shot.
    And that's not surprising.
BBB's music was very much crafted to go along with a certain chain of actions - namely exactly those actions that happen on screen.
It flows in precise sync with the characters. And as such, unless you intend to do basically the same pacing, it doesn't work well in other shots.
