Just a quick question: how did he get that fading/shaded background view in the viewport? Is it a particular blender version or some addon?
Theres a 'use gradient' setting under themes 'theme background color'
oh my godd, is this voice a kind of a gay robot? or is it real? but the tutorial is good.
Blender has an international community and English is not the native language for many people. So many different accents and English speaking capabilities are to be expected. I am American but enjoy hearing all the different accents in tutorials and podcasts.
A bit more respect please.
Does this technique apply to cycles or yafaray? I mainly use cycles (brand new to yafaray) and I'm sure you can't layer textures but I'm not sure.
From watching the tutorial and the way he had the nodes setup, I'm pretty sure the materials can be translated to cycles. The only problem, on his next tutorial where he will go into the texture painting itself, I'm pretty sure that will require you to be in Blender Internal. So you could paint all the textures you need while in Internal (he used a metal, paint, rust, and dirt textures), that transfer over to Cycles and build the materials there using the aforementioned textures.
That's good to know. Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial. I watched most of it, but realized how little I know about the internal renderer. I started using Blender when cycles was 'experimental', and kinda resisted learning both cycles and blender internal. I'm pretty sure the same thing is possible with cycles, but would love to hear your thoughts on what would be different.
Edit* Sorry, realized I was a bit vague. I mean the differences in getting that result, not necessarily if the plug-ins are supported in cycles or internal, although that information would be cool too. As far as the paint layers go, that could be addressed in gimp and just imported and mixed appropriately.
I've seen the tutorials a few months ago and it's amazing the progress I made on texturing with this configuration. You must see her work and try to adapt it in Cycle mode it is surprising !
cant wait to see the full tutorial. i use too, most of the time alway's gives good results.
is the next tut out there now? if it is, where. post from "jpgblender" said he saw it a few month's ago. just asking .
opp's sorry . it was "roger h", who posted that he saw the next tut.
Heh, I'm guessing you meant 'not' me. It was JPGBLENDER that said he saw 'her' work. That part confused me, cause I'm pretty sure it's a guy that made the video/tutorial. I'd guess they saw it at http://www.blendertutorial.net. I just pulled up the page and see some stuff that looks similar.
