You can join a free Blender workshop in Dublin next week.

Redbrick, Dublin City University's Computing Society, with help from David Larkan is holding a workshop on Blender for Beginners on Monday the 3rd of March in Dublin City University as part of their anual Tech Week. It's open to everyone and we hope to get as many blenderheads there as possible. We’ll be covering the basics of modelling and texturing and showing folks just how great this piece of free software can be.
If you’d like to attend you can just drop on Monday at 15:00, in the Computing Building. If anybody has any questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

Nice to here that Blender is being brought to public attention in Ireland, I would love to be there but I do not consider myself a beginner. Am I welcome anyway ?
I've forwarded your question to the organisation
You're more than welcome of course. The workshop itself will be for absolute beginners so I'm sure it'll probably be stuff you know already. However, it'd be nice to chat to other Blender users so I'd be delighted to see you there.
Thanks Dave, will do my best to be there.
Nice to see events in Ireland. I wonder is there enough users for an Irish Blender Users group?
Good question. I gave a similar talk in 2011 and there were a few Blender users that showed up. We did speak about setting up some sort of Users group at the time but I got busy in the weeks that followed and nobody else was in a position to take control. The idea kind of lost momentum at the time but it's definitely a possibility.
That's an overwhelming response to your question androiddeveloper216.....
Give it some time - it's only been one hour :) I'm sure there are plenty of Blender users in the area!
Hi Bart, Yes I agree my comment was far too early, It was just a bad attempt at humor. And may I extend my thanks for your work on BenderNation.
No worries, thanks!
