Here's something that surprised me: Wesley re-interpreted an existing photograph in Blender. The image conveys the same atmosphere but has enough subtle differences to give it it's own identity. This might be a nice idea for a weekend contest, too! What do you think?
Wesley writes:
Hey guys!
Come here to show off a newly completed work, is a retelling of the original photograph of Jose Ramos, in which I found very beautiful and decided to model it in Blender.
I still want to make some subtle changes, especially in the water, but it is almost done.I hope you enjoyed, here are some extra information:
- Modeling, texturing, rendering and post-production: Blender 3D (A little curves adjustment and subtitles in Photoshop)
- Render: Blender Internal
- Render Time: 12min38s
- Final Resolution: 1220×1920
And here a link to a gif showing the evolution of the renders:

Thanks for the post Bart, i hope you all enjoy!
It is a good idea for a competition, perhaps with only one picture, everyone should do their own reinterpretation with a touch of personality.
Very good job!
Thanks!
