Reel: Ryan Fusari

Ryan Fusai is a prolific animator. Here's his reel!

Ryan  writes:

Hi Blender Community,

I just had one of my most successful years as a 3D/2D Motion Graphics Designer and I just wanted to share my demo reel showcasing what Blender has done for me in my line of work. I could not have done it without it. It is my only 3D content creator of choice. Everything that is 3D in my reel below, has been made with and rendered with Blender, with one or two exceptions.

Lately I have had things air on ESPN, Bloomberg and QVC here in the US. Hopefully this can be an encouragement in some small form to those just starting out with Blender.

Lastly, thank you so much to the wonderful Dev team who make Blender what it is. It impacted my workflow tremendously for the better and I am very grateful for that. With that have a great and happy new year.

  1. Some nice work, one thing though Ryan I think you need to cut it down. Not sure if this is for customer acquisition or just to show all your work. But a good general rule for demo reels is somewhere in the 1:30 range. This keeps it fast and interesting while keeping your potential clients attention. Are you freelance or in-house? Great work, keep at it.

    • Thank you for your input. I am a freelancer. I agree that for customer acquisition it may be a bit long. For this purpose though I mainly wanted to showcase a large amount of work that I used blender for. Typically when I am looking to show something to a prospective client, I throw together some relevant examples of what they are looking to see. This piece is kind of the blanket demo reel that shows everything.

    • Totally agree. I think you should ask yourself what you never would remove from your reel.. and remove the rest.
You have very good jobs in your reel. If you select the very best your reel will be amazing. can also divide it in two reels like one for motion graphics and another for animation.

  2. Hi Ryan. We love your giraffe. Is there copyright on this image and if so, what would be the fee to use it for internal posters and videos within our organisation? Is there a link to your website or an email address I can contact you directly on please?
