AnimAll add-on overview

15

AnimAll is an add-on that's not very well known - it allows you to animate all kinds of mesh data like vertices, vertex groups and UV coordinates. Daniel Salazar took them time to give us an overview of the possibilities.

Daniel says:

The AnimAll addon has been extremely useful for me, however I've noticed that many people don't know about it and that's a shame! This video is an overview of all the functionality packed in AnimAll.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This video has mad my day! I've had countless occasions that my first reflex was to animate the curve, lattice or points, and had to find workarounds. Keep up the great work!

Very powerful stuff here!! During the video I thought about dozens of practice uses of this tool, mainly on advertising movies. Thank you!

This is the “animate everything” promise that was an important part of the 2.5x rework. Nice to see the functionality is actually there, even if not directly accessible without an addon like this. :)

By the way, does anybody else think that it would make more sense for animation frames to be numbered from 0 rather than 1?
