Music Video: Colin Masson - Sailing the Rings of Saturn

11

I'm a big Dream Theater and Rush fan, and this video was SUCH a fantastic surprise! I loved both the music and the accompanying video. Enjoy! I'm off to watch it again :)

Colin Masson writes:

Here after two years (on and off), is the finished video, this is a short tour of the solar system, accompanied by the track, "Sailing The Rings Of Saturn", from my soon to be released album "Hunter's Moon". It is also a history of how I learned to use Blender.

I had a lot of fun making this, and if you are interested, you can follow some of the process involved by visiting this thread on the the Blender Artist's Forums.

If you enjoyed this, then please press the like button, and maybe subscribe to my channel. Also if you enjoy the music (and at the end of the day it is a music video), please visit my website to find out more. Music is also available under the name Colin Masson on both i-tunes, and Amazon.

This video works best when played loud, and accompanied by a quality Czech or Polish lager.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    • I enjoyed that on several levels there. The one-man progressive rock music, the space theme, the sci-fi theme, the imaginative theme, the Blender usage and a persistent learner. It took my imagination away. Very fun!

  1. Synopsis: Musician goes to Saturn, finds Babylon 5. I'm very impressed that Colin created both the music and the CGI himself...not many people with both of those skillsets I think. Excellent work!
