archimesh kitchen generator

Well there you go - Blender can now actually create everything AND a kitchen sink! Archimesh has become more awesome with this latest release.

The idea of kitchen furniture was something that was in my head for weeks. Last week, a user told me about a script in 3DMax for this, so I decided to create something to create cabinets in Archimesh for Blender. The script can create kitchen cabinets, including doors, drawers, handles, shelves, countertop and baseboard.

Archimesh can now generate:

  • Rooms
  • Houses
  • Columns
  • Stairs
  • Doors
  • Tile roofs
  • Kitchen cabinets

You can download Archimesh straight from GitHub.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I love this plugin, I hate having to switch from what I know, Blender, to Sketchup or another tool to show someone what I mean in threespace. Keep up the good work!

  2. Wow the only thing you're missing is the "make awesome" button... but I'm sure you'll be on that shortly:)

Fantastic work, thanks so much for sharing!

Great Addon Antonio! Really a careful job! Congrats.

If only Blender had the ability to keep the modeling primitives as a Modifier, like other programs....

    • Maybe the Chimney Generator and Jamb Generator 2 should give you some hope on the matter. They're two mesh generation add-ons that feature persistent-parameters for editing its parametric objects. (http://goo.gl/cSKuJE)

They behave similarly like Modifiers and I think they show promise as having us finally see preserved parameters for primitives in Blender. I hope more add-ons get developed this way, though, yeah, it'd be better if Blender just adopts native support for preserving primitive parameters.

The Object→Action→Settings paradigm that was added to Blender 2.5x makes some really amazing things possible. :)

  5. Things such as this are very useful. And it is very good to see that the "Toy Blender" crowd has stayed away, they usually have bad things to say about features like this.

  6. Thanks for providing the great information with us . Despite of purchasing kitchen furniture from @appliancesconnection.com , I truly saying that I never known about this before. Yes , its the best of the best.

  7. I am new to this Mac thing, can someone kindly explain how to DL these from Github? Where is the "save link as" which seemed to work well in Windows? If the answer is obvious, I accept I am an idiot, but can someone please help? Thank you.
