Les artistes du numérique

A series of double portraits of artists and their creative life by Anthony Salvi.

Anthony writes:

Today I would like to share with you my last project. It's a double portrait, of an artist and his creative life. As an example: for a musician, his discography.

The result is six portraits and one video. Here is the video of Dothy Moroders, a talented motion-graphic designer:

Pictures are on my portfolio.

And this is the breakdown by Tomoco Studio: Camera tracking, CGI, rendering with Cycles and OSL, compositing, made with Blender.

For the story, during the production on set, we used Nuke for the camera tracking & compositing tests. But after all, we used Blender because the camera tracking result was much better in Blender.

We did a behind the scenes video as well:

Many thanks to the team and special thanks to Sebastian König for his support.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
