[non-Blender] Hello, it’s me!

I recently attended the Mini Maker Faire in Groningen, the Netherlands and got scanned on a Raspberry Pi-powered 3D scanner. So hello, it’s me! :)

The scanner uses 40 Raspberry Pis with HD cams and takes 36 pictures at once. Using the free online service Autodesk Recap I stitched the pictures together into this 3D model.

The original scan was quite a bit larger, and needed some cleaning up:

40 Raspberry πs … wow, that’s almost the price of one expensive PC. :)

The π seems to be popping up everywhere these days. Looks like it’s living handily up to its promise of being a programmable hardware-hacking tool that’s almost cheap enough to be disposable.
