Intro to Weight Painting in Blender 3D

3

John Park does an excellent job at explaining armatures and weight painting.

John writes:

A quick blender 3d tutorial showing users how to create an armature (internal skeleton) inside of a mesh and use it to move or animate the mesh. This is a simple example mimicking an arm moving.

Video tutorial by John Park and the Digital Arts program at the University of Oregon.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

You’ll note that Blender makes quite good use of left-click versus right-click to quickly switch bones/vertex groups with minimal interruption to your painting. :)
