Ton Roosendaal just announced that Mathieu Auvray will direct the next Blender Institute open movie, Gooseberry.
Mathieu has proven to be a very talented artist (check out some of his work) and I'm looking forward to seeing him leave his mark on this project.
Please join me in congratulating Mathieu!

Great guy for the job!
Congratulations Mathieu.
Best wishes!
I knew that name already :D. It's all going to be awesome.
Awesome! Gooseberry will be great! Ton and Mathieu share a vision! :)
Great pic :)
So it begins ....
Rad!
cocorico !!!
Well...now we know the rumors are true, George Lucas did in fact create a clone. May the force be with you Mathieu
I gather this is going to take a couple of years to put together a full feature-length movie.
Ton’s timing is pretty good, though. Think of projects like “Caminandes” stepping in to keep up the stream of shorter Blender-based projects. :)
I hadn't thought of it like that, but your remark on timing is spot-on!
Congratulations, Ton! "It's a real deal!" :) Mathieu is really a genius! Congratulations to all the community!
Bravo mathieu!
Hope we ll met in paris one day .
So AWESOME!! I'm a huge fan of Matray! Brilliant call once again Ton:)
Congratualtions!
Congratulations! Great characters!
Congratulations Mathieu!
Hope also to see a new name for the audio composer.
Very talented!
This is awesome. I hope there will be a gooseberry website soon, so we can keep track of things!
congratulation to M Auvray which i follow the work since a long time....
c'est bien anglais ma façon de dire????
Great news!!
Does it mean it will be another live action movie? I really want Gooseberry to be a full CGI movie project this time.
From what I've heard so far, there's no specific focus on VFX or live action in Gooseberry.
Thanks Bart for your response!
Fantastic! So... any writers on the team yet?? :)
Great news
