Add-on: Turnaround

7

It's a simple thing, but this add-on does it well: setting up camera motion for a nice turnaround.

Antonio Vazquez (antonioya) writes:

I have created a new addon to create turnaround camera with one click.

My first idea was to add as archimesh option, but I decided to make separated. The use is very simple and fast, and allows you to create various effects.

I know this can be done manually with Blender, but it's easier to click a button :-)

The use is: Select object->Press button->That's it

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I was going to submit this as a story lead yesterday. Glad I don't have to now! :D Simple but useful addon, Antonio. I use turnaround/"turntable" animations all the time for game model showcases. This saves me time and effort, and gives me options. This should be standard in the included addons.

    Oh, thank you, Antonio!
Always do this manually... Every time this simple process eats my time :) Now it's fast and timesaving... Nothing to say more!
    Cheers!

  3. Awesome! I've needed this for a good long while now for getting the multiple sides of objects for use in isometric games/engines/programs I write. This will be a time saver because setting the cameras up manually is annoying.
    Keep it up!
