Lino Thomas (linolafett) took this picture at the Blender Conference this year. Of course it doesn't include ALL the Blender developers, but you'll see many familiar names here!

Thomas Dinges helped me identify everyone. From left to right:

  • Bastien Montagne
  • Jonathan Williamson
  • Stuart Broadfoot
  • Thomas Dinges
  • Brecht Van Lommel
  • Sergey Sharybin
  • Andrea Weikert
  • Thomas Beck
  • Dalai Felinto
  • Lukas Tönne
  • Monique Dewanchand
  • Jeroen Bakker
  • Keir Meirle
  • Ton Roosendaal

James Neale's 'fixed' version gave me a good laugh, too:

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. LOL How long have them been trapped in this room, away from any computer, before the picture was taken? They look so happy! ;)

    • Judging from the fact that they are mostly looking to past the camera on their right side, I would say there is a compuer standing there, perhaps compiling the 2.69 release. Only Bastien and Jonathan didn't notice it, which is why they are looking to the other side.

  2. Lots of hard work gone on lately with both developing Blender 2.69's final release and running things with the Blender Conference. That must have taken a good deal of effort to do. Thanks, developers.

  3. It's good to see some of the faces behind the code. Blender really is an amazing piece of software.

Thanks for all the hard work.
