Spelle writes:

The render was done completely in Blender (with exception of some post-work). Recently, it has won first prize in computer graphics contest called "Her Majesty's Air Fleet". Contest was held on a big cg portal called Render.ru.

I'd like to say thanks to a wonderful community of Blender. While I was modelling this scene, I was also learning Blender modelling tools, searching for useful addons, trying to find optimal Cycles render settings.

Thankfully, I found many useful tips on Blendernation, Blenderartists, Blenderguru, Blendercookie, Blendersushi... you name it. In another words, I found great support in open community.

In a last few days the render, called "Her Majesty's Zeppelins" was posted at BlenderArtists and BlenderCookie Facebook page. Thank you for attention!

  1. We are really proud with your achievment!
F lot of thanks for your hard work!

BTW, some russians blendermans are searching for you contacts now ;)

  2. This is just awesome beyond words! the extra little touches, like signing the platform at the bottom instead of using a stamp, as well as the St. Georges cross and the subtle red and white colour code combine to really polish this image. Well done!

  3. Amazing image! Very reminiscent of the old Maplin Electronics catalogue cover artwork created by Lionel Jeans many years ago.
