I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    Ton’s half right...

I tried googling “blender”, and the first non-sponsored link is for blender.org, while the sponsored link above that is for a kitchen appliance...

    • no ads for me there ) Maybe b'coz I'm NoScript user ))
The fun is that our local (Russian) Wikipedia gives Blender - the free Open Source software BEFORE "A blender (liquidiser in British English) is a kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix ..."
Some time will pass and any kitchen tools will be named anyhow but blender :)

  2. Actually Ton is right. I think it depends on the computer setting. Mine has no sposored link at all, except at the bottom is "Ad related to blender : smoothie blender shop".

The first 6 links all lead to blender related sites. (.org the first, graphicall, wikipedia, blendernation, blender cookie).

I don't know if it related to the setting on my chrome, or how frequent i google stuff related to blender (and google + chrome remembers it, since I google under my account (did you google as an outsider or did you log in to gmail account?)

and I don't know if adblock made the "kitchen blender ad" missing or was it due to i'm a gmail member.

    tl,dr: Ton was right :-)

Thank you for your effort. You do incredible things - no one supposed that your program will be so prominent on the background of commercial production.

Everyone who know enough Blender, can form all about being yourself dream about.
