The bug count for 2.68 is still high, and bug fix period (BCon4) has been extended for one week.

Hi all,
Here's the notes from today's meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders. It's summertime, or everyone is busy, so it was a short meeting!
1) Blender 2.68 release status
- Meeting agrees to extend BCon4 period (bug fix only) 1 more week.
- The tracker still has too many open reports (140), of which unstable viewport render should really be tackled. Ton Roosendaal will check, or consult Brecht van Lommel for help.
- In general, bug tracker status is: "lots of small issues that are not new (i.e. related to 2.67)". So we can conclude that people report a lot, not that Blender is in an unacceptable bad state.
2) Google Summer of Code
- Thomas Dinges (Cycles) and Sergey Sharybin (threaded object update) reported good progress. See for full reporting - or to get involved - here.
- Proposal: add a staging branch, for students to commit their work too, also for buildbot, so we can get more feedback. Will be further discussed and planned at the SoC mailing list.
Thanks,
-Ton-

I hope they are finding solution for OpenCL GPU rendering. Cause many guys like me want it. And i'll hope texture baking option will be adding too.
Regardless,
Odilkhan.
AMD finally got on the dime and cooperated, so there is a good chance this will finally happen.
(argh... Something in me knows AMD is probably not the entity I meant to say, but I can't quite remember. Too early in the morning.)
I have to agree and I'm sure many of us can't stress it enough how important it is that OpenCL gets the support that it needs. CUDA is great but what hardware out there supports it that isn't based on Nvidia's architectures? NONE!
One more week! it's the good thing to do!
Ton and the Devs are doing really a great job. I'm sure that 2.68 is gonna be awesome, but 140 bugs is quite much and I'm sure that more are gonna appear with new tests. Personally I would not mind if two more weeks were used for bug fixing.
Anyway, again big thanks for the great job you guys are doing.
They`re doing an amazing job! Cycles is faster than ever on GPU side, hair is in. I toyed around this weekend with an idea for a project and found the viewport OpenGL performance pretty awesome, not the mention it was tons of vertices and had lots of modifiers on the object. Hats of! Now squish those small bugs, GSoC `13 gonna be epic and SSS/Volume on the GPU.
is it true? Is Opencl ready and can i use OpenCL in future versions of Blender?
View-port render is too jagged at any distances how can I improve it?
