"Winter Gazebo"-full HD version

This is a 3D environment demo of DIGITAL MIRAGE which specializes in VFX & Product Visualization. The entire 3D content has been been created from scratch using Blender and the lense flare was added using Optical Flare. The 19 second original rendering was done by Greenbutton.com, which just updated their plugin for Blender 2.67. The rendering took about one and half day, through a subscription which is no longer available to new customers, I believe. :( (I wonder how long it would take by other render farms.)

    • Hi EnV (Enrico Valenza),
It's an honor to see your comment. :)
Yes, I too was a bit disappointed at the current rendering speed. It would have taken 5~6 days on a GTX 660 Ti (with over 1,344 GPUs), though.
In fact, I would love to see all the render farms currently on the market supporting Cycles participate in a speed test--if they are willing--of rendering "Winter Gazebo," to see which of them is currently fastest. ("The original 3D
sequences are made up of a single Blend file.)
since it's made of one single blend file to see which of them can

      • Hi George,
well, thanks, it's an honor for me. :)
Yes, it would be nice to see such a contest. Btw, hopefully Cycles will have an optimization to render faster in the next future, not everybody can afford a renderfarm.

Last week i used http://www.render.st with several different renders. First versions in low resolution for client aproval and final versions in 720p. All cycles, and with different passes. It works pretty well, and fast.

I spent a good price, reasonable, for a project i've been payed for and would be impossible to reach de deadline without a render farm.
Also we should remember that the farms have different user levels andp rices.

          regards

  1. Great job! It's a very subtle detail, but the bird flying across the second shot really enhanced it for me! Nice work!

  2. wait a minute.... Ive seen this before but in green ...
so someone took the demo scene of Agus3D with lot of trees, watched a demo video made with it and then change the color to white to make it look different and original?
    hmmmm....

    • Thank you for your interest in this demo. Yes, it does use the technique Agustin Benavidez (Agus3D) graciously shared with the Blender community through his file "Cycle Island."

There's a significant difference, though, between (1) modifying a filing and re-using it and (1) understanding the technique revealed in the file and creating another. :)

I hope to see more of these works among professional users of Blender.

Happy Blendering and thank you for your comment.
      :)

        That's it. Check, please."
