I'd like to share with you some making of shots made for Russian movie "Brigada: Naslednik (2012)". The compositing was done in After Effects, tracking and fire-smoke simulations were done in Blender.

Rocking! nice compilation of your workflow, also thanks for showing all the subtle changes you made with glass, especially the TV show
nice!
Why has it been change to police instead of militia? Very HQ work here. Wish I could comment in Russian but it's forbidden :P.
It has happened that people have commented in other languages while translating for the benefit of everyone else. This way the person to whom the comment is addressed and who may mot speak English fluently and the other users should be satisfied.
Would this be a good compromise Bart ?
Absolutely. Commenting in another language and adding the English translation is fine! Comments in only a foreign language are removed.
Great work .....
My only thought was overkill on the amount of bullet holes in the cars side shots.
But everything was really nicely done thanks for sharing this,
Thx people for your comments!
2cgxev: at that time when the movie was filming there was a militia in Russia, and then passed a law to rename militia to police.
2foz: the amount of bullet holes was a director's and editor's wish :)
It looked really good, I didn't realize how much of it was cg at first.
The link is messed up. it has "www.blendernation.com/" in front of the actual address.
Link fixed, thanks!
great vfx work! However the hole movie is rare peace of shit:)
yeap, indeed :)
Stunning work my friend. I always knew Blender was a serious piece of software, and work like this as well as all the other talented people using it only proves me right. I take my hat off to you.
You mentioned tracking was done in blender, but you list mocha Pro as one of the production tools. What type of tracking was done in Blender, and why bother if you have mocha?
Mocha Pro is a planar tracking and it's good for plain scenes, particularly bullets and rotoscoping were tracked with it.
Complex scenes with smoke were done in Blender, especially at range 1:26 - 1:39
