Hi, I would like to share with you my demoreel. All the vfx shots in this videos has been made with Blender, some of them are compossed in other packages but Blender was used in every single shot on this video, specially for the 3D modelling and animation. Also Cycles for some of the shots while other ones I used Octane Render or Blender Internal.

There is some really nice work in there. Congrats! As far as a show reel goes however, it could use some editing. It could be about 1/4 as long and it looks like you saved the best for last. Your best stuff should go first to grab attention. Again though, very nice portfolio of work.
I agree with PickleJones, some nice work in there. Some things that aren't so nice, {bad attention to vignette, inaccurately lit 3d environments, stiff animations (not all)}. All in all I think Sam is going to go far, and most of the issues I pointed out may have been due to rushes on deadlines or still learning. It's also a lot more than I've ever done and probably most of us here. :D
So good job Sam!
Nice reel ! Great compositing works !
I've met Sam last year at the SIGGRAPH Blender BoF. He's a nice and talented artist. I want to see more projects done by him.
a lot of the 3d elements were too easy to "pick" other times it was good but the acting or apparent lack thereof gave it away completely.....still a lot better than many including me have achieved
good reel
Great reel, Sam. Loved seeing the shots from GR.

ok something went completely wrong up there somehow
Some of this stuff is excellent, other fairly obvious, but from my own experience I know compositing work is very difficult, so I credit you with the effort you've put into this stuff. Overall very good.
Sam has done a massive amount of work on Gemini rising that's hard to show because most the shots have gone thru a team process with us all doing various parts so many of the great shots on GR have had 4 team members involved.(Modeler - animator -texture / render - and compositor)...and its been rare on GR that a shot is fully worked by one person which is quite a normal workflow for such a team.
Ive worked many shots where he has supplied a wide range of elements because we adopted a team process the reel don`t even touch on the sheer amount of hard work that Sam has put into GR who has had a role as a key member with in our team and has worked on hundreds of the shots with in the film in various forms.
Reel needs to to be a lot shorter as others state...but i think Sam has been so busy that making a reel has been something he has not had time to fully focus on.
We have a really good team now and its a shame we can`t do all the work with the skill level we have now given a reasonable time to work shots...but i think we have done an amazing job considering the ambitious amount of vfx the film required and the nature of the team being so small and deadline pressures.
Good work Sam the GR film is something we can be proud of and the real show reel for our works.

nice, really nice, thanx 4 sharing it with us
Good to see the final results of GR, I ended up having to pay more attention to classes lately so I haven't checked on it. I remember you and Foz were probably the two hardest working compositors on the team.
Great work over all. I agree with most, the reel is too long. Shave off at least a minute (more if you can) One of the 3D magazines (3D artist I think) this month had a great article about demo reels. 30 sec min, 3 min max. Start strong end strong, close with contact info, don't fade out leave your contact info as the last frame.
Your work is better than a lot of the stuff I see in blender or out. Great work! But everyone needs to edit.
