A fairly accurate model of the F/A-18 Hornet (two-seat "B" version). These are the primary fighters used by the U.S. Navy. The F-18 was also Hollywood's generic "fighter jet" for many years. If you're watching an action movie from the 90's, there's probably an F-18 in there somewhere:)

Final poly count here is ~260K faces (544K verts). Details include landing gear, engine areas, etc. Cockpit is "blocked out" only..

There's no rigging here, but most parts are theoretically "rig-able" (in other words, most of the stuff fits where it's supposed to). The landing gear may need to be tweaked if you want it to retract correctly- in real life, the gear will extend when the weight is off of it, allowing it to fit properly inside the aircraft. The rear mechanism is fairly complex, so it's up to you how accurate you'd want to make it.

Note: Textures must be unpacked before rendering!

Most of the textures are included... but I made the decals and a few "tweaks" in GIMP after the render. Shouldn't be too hard to reproduce. The textures are fairly basic, anyway... most of the details are modeled..

Pics from the build can be found here.

Any questions/comments, let me know...
