We have made a new TV ad for Latvian State Forests.
All 3D is made in Blender, compositing in After Effects..
A little bit of camera mapping is used in Blender also.. you can see that in breakdown video. And we have shared the rigged woodpecker in Blendswap for you, Blender community!

awesome, loved to see this, thanx 4 sahring and 4 Blendswap as well, Hugs...
Congratulations. This really looks real.
Very well done ! I love these birds... except once or twice a week ! The reason why ? The little guy on the images below lives close to my home and awakes me from time to time with a start, knocking at my wooden shutter !

That was very good! Hard to tell what's real and what's not.
The woodpeckers look great...and i saw the model on BlendSwap...very very nice...thanks for your generosity!
However, the end titles (the "We Support Latvian Sport" and "LATVIAN STATE FORESTS") are *extremely* hard to read, white text on a chaotic black and white background! If it's not too late, you should fix that, because it ruins and otherwise completely brilliant piece.
:D really liked!, funny also :)
btw, does anyone know a good tutorial about camera mapping?, i used to use the stitchy technique (from the blender guru tutorial) but, that ain´t available no more, anyone knows? :)
UV Project modifier now?
Wow! That's amazingly! By a first look I've thought it's a real shot... I got it's CG only after some animation proceeded. Maybe (at 1st time) the CG things were known by a smooth movement of camera (from bird view to trees). It was too smooth.
(2nd) I was surprised by that "marine" tone of needles... Is it like this in your woods?
(3rd) Jumps of woodpeckers are a bit... mechanical. I've didn't seen them jumping (at least not that close) but I've seen other birds and.. it differs.
Trees' models are totally awesome! And snow! It's very very amazing!
P.S. Thank you for sharing the birds!
*Very* convincing bird motion. To me, anyway.
Thank's everyone!
Thanks, and nice job!
