The Blender Foundation has released an update release for Blender 2.65 which includes over 40 bugfixes.

The quest for stability and usablity will continue of course. Everyone's encouraged to keep reporting in our bug tracker.

Nice Nice!.... No lets merge in some of those fancy branches so
we can do some bug fixing to them... lol (dynosculpt anyone?)

You don't need to get a .deb. Just unpack de official release and double click over the blender binary. You can link a launcher too. That's the way I'm using it, and it is very comfortable. When you need to erase an old version of Blender, just delete the folder and you are done.
If you want .debs or "in-system" installations, you can use PPAs like cheleb or Irie, but you will be a little delayed, because these update later from the release.
