The Normans

Here are a few Norman Rig variations I made for doing animation exercises.

They are rigged using rigify and I copied some things from the Norman rigs by Kiopaa and Ivo Grigull so credit goes to them.

I hope some of you find them useful.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Very nice meshes but the rigs could be better.

for example the fingers have only one bone so it is imposible to make a
fist or just to bend the figers. In animation, hands give a lot of
emotions etc. so they are quite important for good acting.
Also the facials could be more complex.

    Thanks for the meshes though

P.S I noticed that on the render above the fingers are bent. But I can't find this option in the properties bar or anywhere.
Maybe you posted a different version or what?

  2. Haha, I expected to find an army of Vikings with steel jewellery and massive double-bladed axes.
Mind you, they look a bit like an IKEA crew too...
