Until very recently unknown was this Luftwaffe ace, said to have scored even more kills than the famous Erich Hartmann. Kept secret because the Luftwaffe considered him like a kind « V-Waffe » wonder weapon of some sort , due to his success . His definitive score is yet unknown …
Hans Pervitin was so « deadly » that it would shoot down almost anything he would meet in the air. This caused some problems when serving in regular Luftwaffe units as he shot several German planes and even some of his wingmens…

Amazing work on the plane and scene in general! The face seems a bit off, but other than that I simply love this piece!
The face seems a bit off... His name is Hans Pervitin... of course his face is a little bit off :-)
Perfect
Shooting his wing-men? He just wanted a challenge.
Everything is cool! I like it!
Except tires and the airfield: 1st are too smooth and clean. 2nd is too flat (too obvious it's a texture) and has no a bit of grass between planes (it's impossible in nature). Add these details and the picture will "show the ace" :)
I apologize, but I couldn't follow one of the sentences. The thing about grass between planes, is there a reference photo showing what it should look like on an airfield?
1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomatetom/3972574322/ - when it's old :) really not shiny
http://www.flickr.com/photos/94737564@N00/3996927401/ - just a version :D
http://www.flickr.com/photos/25695066@N00/3782010093/ - ok, it's newer...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pvdac/5512880512/ - this looks shiny... not too much. but for the sake of art I like some little grungy textures (in pictures like this) and even not real (for that time) details (like protectors from ww2 planes).
2. Of course in reality a cat under such plane will be almost unseen but ... for the sake of art! :)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9954608@N05/791713364/in/photostream/ - at least like these
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8531201@N04/2729412884/ - it's OUR shame :( probably that was because I wrote about grass. It's a borrowed airfield in a city. But those planes in WW2 were a really awesome fighters.
About grass - it may be on cg arts not to show that it's like in reality but for a mood.
Anyway, the picture is really good! I'm criticizing just to give some hints to the author not to blame his work.
Thanks , glad you like it .
Some good points. I agree. Specially about the tires.
I see it now! I only had pictures of modern airfields, it is good to see photos of the old fields with the grass under the pavement. Different amounts of grass too depending on unkeep, or whether the pavement was newly constructed at the time of the picture vs aged a few months. Liked.
@google-b730296600b7dcbbca2059eac272a6f8:disqus I think I can understand what you try to say and partially I agree: a bit of grass between the slabs would add to the atmosphere of the image. But to say that there has to be grass because in reallity it's impossible that there wouldn't be any is wrong. Airstrips are meticulously maintained and the slabs are probably glued together with some sort of cement or kit to keep the weeds away. After all: grass and weed could mean loss of grip of the tires. Considering that Hans seems to be stepping out of the plane indicates that the airstrip is in full use and therefor kept clean.
I don't see any grass on this real life airstrip.

Thank you, guys! Now my ego-part of mind can sleep silently :D
From my limited experience in Flight Gear I'd guess this plane is a bitch to land... probably like skating with stilts on ice...
Did he have some kind of radar? If not i can't see him shoot down anything because he's got zip forward view. All he sees is the backend of this huge enginebay. Love the picture though. It has a cute kind of wackyness.
Thanks :)
It's a very deformed version of a Fw 190A-8, orthographic render here :

see a realistic shaped one on this page :

Nice rendering! Looks like something from a cool CG movie. I too would love to see more atmospheric stuff / details, as a matter of personal taste. Regardless, I really dig it and to my untrained eye looks rock solid to me as is. Thx for sharing your work!
Well done render . I really like it , kind a made me think of Fox McCloud :)
